Furthermore, rifampicin, dexamethasone, St. John&#8217;s Wort, and certain anticonvulsants (phenytoin, phenobarbital,\u00a0carbamazepine) may induce mifepristone metabolism (lowering serum levels of mifepristone). Based on in vitro Inhibition information, co\u00ad administration of mifepristone may lead to an increase in serum levels of drugs that are GYP 3A4 substrates. Due to the elimination of mifepristone from the body, such interaction may be\u00a0observed\u00a0for a prolonged period after its administration. Therefore, caution should be exercised when mifepristone is administered with drug that are GYP 3A4 substance and have narrow therapeutic\u00a0range,including\u00a0some agents used during general anaesthesia.\u00a0<br><br><strong>Misoprostol tablets:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><br>Misoprostol is\u00a0predominantly metabolised\u00a0via fatty acid oxidizing systems and has shown no adverse effect on the hepatic microsomal mixed function oxidase (P450) enzyme system. Concomitant administration of NSAIDs and misoprostol in rare cases can cause a transaminase increase and peripheral oedema. A modest increase in propranolol concentrations has been\u00a0observed\u00a0with multiple dosing of misoprostol. Antacids may decrease the bioavailability of misoprostol. Antacids\u00a0containing\u00a0magnesium may aggravate diarrhoea or abdominal pain caused by misoprostol. Drug interaction studies with misoprostol and several NSAIDs showed no clinically significant effect on the kinetics of ibuprofen, diclofenac, piroxicam, aspirin,\u00a0naproxen\u00a0or indomethacin. In extensive clinical\u00a0studies,no\u00a0drug interactions have been attributed to misoprostol.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-msi-blocks-accordion-item-global accordion-container\"><div class=\"tab\"><label class=\"tab-label\"><div class=\"label-container\"><p class=\"text-label\">What are the side effects or adverse reactions of\u00a0Mariprist?\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/label><div class=\"tab-content\"><p>The treatment procedure\u00a0of\u00a0Mariprist\u00a0is designed to induce the uterine cramping and vaginal bleeding necessary to produce an abortion.\u00a0Nearly all\u00a0of the women who receive MARIPRIST will therefore experience vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain, particularly after misoprostol administration. Other commonly reported side effects are nausea, vomiting, weakness, dizziness, fever\/chills, headache, and diarrhoea.<br><br>Undesirable effects are ranked under headings of frequency. Within each<br>frequency grouping, the effects are presented in order of decreasing<br>seriousness. This occurred particularly in multiparous women or in women with a caesarean section scar.\u00a0Very rare\u00a0cases of fatal toxic shock caused by Clostridium\u00a0sordellii\u00a0endometritis, presenting without fever or other obvious symptoms of infection, have been reported.
